Philippe Coutinho has handed in a transfer request in the hope of pushing through his dream move to Barcelona.
The development comes only a couple of hours after Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group issued a statement saying that he was not for sale.

Anfield officials insisted when the claims were first made that they had not received a formal request from the player or his representatives although we suggested that this could change.
Not long after the denials were issued, a source on our members’ website posted: “Giuliano Bertolucci has notified Liverpool that they will be requesting a transfer request after today’s statement” although he did go on to add that no request had been received as of noon today. We can confirm that the player went on to request a transfer this afternoon by email.
While the rest of the online LFC community has poked fun at our claims that Coutinho wants to leave, we have stood firm and insisted that sadly he does. We also advised our followers not to dismiss the claims that Sky Sports News published today in relation to the transfer request (as we know who their source was).
Liverpool insist that they will stand firm and that the player will not be sold at any price.
