No retrospective disciplinary action for Mo Salah

Mo Salah

Liverpool ace Mo Salah will not face any retrospective disciplinary action from the Football Association over yesterday’s penalty incident against Newcastle.

Many observers feel that Salah dived to win the penalty for the Reds after being pulled back by Newcastle defender Paul Dummett.

Former Premier League referee Mark Halsey said the Egyptian should be banned for 2 games for simulation and there were fears that when the FA disciplinary panel met today that Salah could be handed a suspension which would mean he would have missed key games against Arsenal and Manchester City.

However, Salah has escaped action after the FA say the incident did not meet the threshold for deception of a match official.
