Trabzonspor president Ahmet Ağaoğlu says Liverpool have not made an offer for Abdülkadir Ömür.
The 19-year-old midfielder who has been dubbed the ‘Turkish Messi’ [ED: Ridiculous!] has been linked with the Reds recently with chatter suggesting that Liverpool could step up with a £27million offer during the January transfer window.
Those claims have been played down by Anfield insiders who insist no bid will be forthcoming but despite this, speculation continues to rumble on that Ömür is a target of Reds’ boss Jürgen Klopp.
Agaoglu claims there is interest in Ömür but states no offer has been tabled by Liverpool.
“We did not receive an official offer from Liverpool but there are offers from other clubs,” said the Trabzonspor chief.
Commenting recently on the reported interested from Liverpool, Ömür said: “Liverpool are a great club, one of the greatest in the world. These offers are something Trabzonspor need to discuss.
“If the club give the go-ahead, talks can be held. The club’s interests take precedence. I’ll do whatever is in the club’s best interests.
“If the club say leave, I’ll leave. If they say stay, I’ll stay.
“We are having a great season. We are in the title race and on course to make the Turkish Cup final.”
Ömür is under contract until 2022.
