Emil Forsberg won’t be making the switch to Anfield or anywhere else during the January transfer window, claims RB Leipzig sporting director Ralf Rangnick.
The 25-year-old Swedish winger has allegedly expressed an interest via his agent in signing for Liverpool but his club insist he’s not currently available for transfer.
Rangnick commented: “We are not even thinking about letting him go.
“There’s no need for a hysterical reaction to every rumour.
“I can promise all fans and employees that he will play for us in the next six months and I’d like to think beyond the summer as well.”
Considered a ‘secondary target’ by the Reds who would prefer to recruit Borussia Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic, boss Jürgen Klopp had been invited to bid for the player by his representative Hasan Cetinkaya.
However, Rangnick appears pretty adamant that Forsberg isn’t for sale. Money talks, of course, but we can’t see Liverpool offering a premium for him.
