Lille striker Nicolas Pepe favours a move to Arsenal according to the latest reports coming out of Italy today.
The 24-year-old Ivory Coast international has been heavily linked with Liverpool but Anfield officials claim they have no interest in him.
Reports yesterday stated that Liverpool had even agreed a £70million fee for the player but again, these claims were denied by club insiders in an email to KOPTALK.
Arsenal are reportedly holding “advanced talks” about a possible transfer and the player’s representatives have let it be known that the Gunners have agreed to all the conditions to enable something to happen. A £72million fee is said to have been accepted and the terms on a 5-year contract offer appear to have been accepted. Nothing, however, has been confirmed as yet.
Pepe, who scored 23 goals and provided 12 assists in 41 appearances for Lille last season, was offered to Liverpool and while boss Jürgen Klopp expressed some interest in making a deal happen, it appears that our interest cooled because of the numbers involved in the proposals.
