Liverpool Football Club are pushing ahead with their attempts to land Naby Keïta despite RB Leipzig insisting their star player is not for sale.
The Reds are willing to break the bank to land the 22-year-old midfielder and are offering “a substantial premium” to secure his signature.
Keïta has indicated that he wants to join Liverpool but at the same time, he has been respectful towards his employers’ position on the matter.

A source is quoted on the KopTalk Members website as saying: “The offer is there. The player wants the transfer. It’s just a case of whether or not Leipzig cave in. They would be stupid not to, considering they have been offered a substantial premium on our initial valuation.
“They are an ambitious club and they genuinely do not want to sell Keïta. It’s not a negotiating tactic, they do not want to sell.”
The source added: “Although I can’t speak on behalf of Leipzig, I think this is transfer has a good chance of happening. It’ll be easier to get this one over the line than Virgil van Dijk although we will continue to push on that front too.”
