There’s been a lot of ongoing speculation regarding whether or not Liverpool will return with a new offer for Lyon ace Nabil Fekir. The 24-year-old’s proposed transfer to Anfield fell through at the 11th hour and he remains in transfer limbo.
Liverpool’s medical staff had concerns about one of his knees but the Reds were still willing to push ahead with a deal if Lyon agreed to cover medical insurance premiums. However, Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas refused to renegotiate and the deal collapsed. Liverpool claim they ended their interest while Lyon claim that it was them that pulled the plug.
Since it all kicked off, there have been multiple reports relating to the situation and in particular whether or not Fekir will eventually complete his move.
Supporters will have seen quotes by Jean-Michel Aulas and the player’s agent which claim that the transfer could still be resurrected. There have also been suggestions that Real Madrid and Manchester United are now interested in the player.
In response to these claims, an Anfield source has provided an update regarding this situation which hopefully clears things up.
