Nabil Fekir could still join Liverpool – agent

Nabil Fekir

The agent that represents Nabil Fekir says his client could still complete a transfer to Liverpool after the World Cup despite reports to the contrary.

Jean-Pierre Bernes was asked why the 24-year-old France international didn’t complete his £53million transfer to Anfield and he responded: “He didn’t sign because um… it is not over! This is not the end of the story.”

Both the local and national media have reported that Liverpool have ended their interest in the Lyon ace but KOPTALK sources have continued to insist that a deal could still proceed, so these comments, albeit brief, suggest we could still be on the right track. However, as we stated in our last update, much will depend on Lyon president Jean-Michel Aula.

As a result of the uncertainty, Liverpool are considering other options, but again, we don’t believe our interest in Fekir is over at the present time.

Meanwhile, the player himself has commented that his knee, which Liverpool want financial assurances over, is perfectly fine.

Fekir, who met with Jean-Michel Aulas yesterday, said: “It was great to see Jean-Michel Aulas yesterday at Istra but we did not at all discuss my situation at Lyon.

“My knee is super-good. We work a lot on it, we reinforce it. But I honestly feel like before my injury.”
