MO SALAH INJURY NEWS – SADIO MANÉ & FIRMINO RUMOURS

Mo Salah

Mo Salah could return to action on Wednesday when Liverpool take on Genk in the Champions League. The Liverpool ace missed yesterday’s game at Old Trafford due to the ankle injury he sustained prior to the international break.

Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp says the 27-year-old forward could make the squad but it’s not nailed on at the moment and he won’t be risked for the sake of it.

Commenting on the situation, Klopp said: “Mo was not ready [to face United], that’s how it is. He couldn’t train with the team; I don’t know where it came from that everybody said he will play.

“There was pretty much no chance for today, maybe for Wednesday, we have to see.”

Meanwhile, there is speculation today that Real Madrid have not ended their interest in Salah or his Anfield team-mate Sadio Mané. Both players continue to be linked every now and then with the Spanish giants and if you choose to believe the chatter coming out of Madrid, Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez remains interested in signing one of the duo.

Liverpool, of course, will insist that neither player is available for transfer.

The good news is that Barcelona’s recently reported interest in Roberto Firmino has gone quiet with the Spanish tabloids now suggesting that the Brazilian is not a target for the Catalan club.

We expect there to be increased chatter focusing on Liverpool’s front three after the January transfer window concludes.
