Speculation linking Liverpool with Maxi Gómez is continuing to rumble on. There are fresh reports originating from Spain that claim the Reds have now added the 22-year-old striker to a list of possible options for the summer.
Recent reports had suggested that former Liverpool ace Luis Suarez had recommended his international team-mate to ‘friends’ at Anfield after Chelsea registered an interest in the Celta Vigo hitman.
Gómez, who has 3 years remaining on his contract, would be allowed to leave for a fee in the region of £35million if you choose to believe the reports, and that could tempt Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp to make an offer as he’s looking to strengthen his attacking options for next season.
He scored 17 goals in his debut season with Celta Vigo and has continued to impress this term. Despite Celta hovering around the relegation zone in La Liga, he’s still managed to bag 9 goals and provide 5 assists in 23 La Liga fixtures so far this season.
West Ham United tried to sign Gómez during the January transfer window and Tottenham are also said to be tracking the player.
