Reports originating from Spain claim that Luis Suarez is interested in a return to Liverpool and that the Reds are open to the idea of making it happen.
The former Liverpool ace hasn’t had the best of starts to the season and his relationship with supporters seems to be at an all-time low, despite him being their 5th top scorer in history with 179 goals to his name. He was whistled and booed at by the Nou Camp crowd when he was hauled off in midweek against Villarreal and reports have now emerged suggesting he’s had enough and is ready to walk away.
Naturally, speculation now suggests that Anfield could be an option for the 32-year-old (he turns 33 in January) who is under contract until 2021. It is claimed that he could be allowed to leave for a fee under €50million (£44.4m) should someone step forward with a cash offer.
Suarez has started Barcelona’s last three games since returning from a calf problem, but the Uruguayan striker doesn’t look anything like his former self at the moment.
Speaking after the game, Barca boss Ernesto Valverde said. “He has been injured. When he gets back in form, he will give us a lot.”
The reports are, of course, highly speculative and there’s nothing to suggest that Liverpool are considering making a move for him any time soon. However, we thought we’d touch on this in case you’ve come across any ‘Suarez to Liverpool’ rumours online.
