Liverpool FC officials are playing down suggestions that Lorenzo Insigne could be Anfield bound next month.
Reports have suggested that the 27-year-old forward could be signed by Reds’ boss Jürgen Klopp during the January transfer window but club officials claim we have no interest in signing him.
Bookmakers have shortened the odds on the possibility of a deal happening but this isn’t a concrete indiciation that something could be brewing. We rarely pay attention to the bookies because markets are often affected by the likes of Sky Sports News and Sky Bet when they appear to exaggerate and fuel such speculation.
Liverpool, under Klopp especially, have gone on to sign a number of targets after initially playing down suggestions that they could be signed or even after publicly stating that a player would definitely not be incoming.
KOPTALK readers may recall us linking Insigne with Liverpool back in October 2016 and more recently, June 2018. Although it was a weak link back in the summer, the suggestion at the time was that Klopp may swoop for the Italy international as a result of him missing out on Lyon’s Nabil Fekir.
