Liverpool are monitoring 20-year-old Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze.
Deemed one of La Liga’s most talented youngsters, Chukwueze has impressed for both club and country. He has already earned 9 caps with Nigeria.
Chukwueze joined Villarreal’s youth setup in 2017. He made his senior debut with the reserves in April 2018 and went on to make his first-team debut in 20 September 2018 against Steven Gerrard’s Rangers in the 2018–19 UEFA Europa League, it is then when Liverpool scouts first cast their eyes over him.
Speaking in an interview with Goal recently, Chukwueze said: “I know I am going in the right direction.
“I am happy just to be playing football and to see where that takes me.
“I always try to see the bigger picture, and to stay patient. I am not one who wants everything immediately. I am happy to take smaller steps on the way to the bigger goals.
“I just love to play. I love training. From the moment I wake up, I want to be kicking a ball. It is a joy for me.”
A number of clubs tried to recruit him when he was a youngster including Premier League outfit Arsenal.
Chukwueze is represented by Roc Nation Sports and 10 Management.
