Liverpool are one of several clubs monitoring Fenerbahçe’s 19-year-old goalkeeper Berke Özer.
It is claimed that the Reds have made an enquiry regarding Özer’s availability via his representatives.
Liverpool were interested in signing him prior to his move to Fenerbahçe from Altınordu in 2018 but the player snubbed our interest as he believed he would be given regular first-team action. However, he made just one appearance in the Turkish Cup last season which has sparked suggestions that he could become available for transfer.
Liverpool believe Özer would be a decent acquisition but if he was recruited, it is likely that he would immediately be allowed to leave on a season-long loan to an English club to help him gain valuable first team experience.
A meeting between the player’s representatives and club officials to discuss his future is said to be imminent.
Özer has been called up twice by Turkey but is yet to make his debut. He has represented Turkey at various youth levels since 2015.
Manchester City are also believed to be monitoring his situation.
