Liverpool scouts were deployed in Italy to watch 19-year-old defensive midfielder Frank Kessié yesterday.
The talented Atalanta youngster is attracting interest from a number of European clubs who had scouts watching him in the 1-0 home defeat to Palermo. We can confirm that Liverpool were in attendance.
Sunderland tried to sign the youngster in the summer but they were unable to secure a work permit for him. Capped 4 times by the Ivory Coast he was 1 cap short of meeting the requirements to enable him to make the switch. Since then he has signed a new and extended contract with his club.
The player has admitted that he would be interested in a move to the Premier League one day but sadly, Manchester United would appear to be his dream move.
Speaking recently he said: “I really like the English league, but for now I have to learn the Italian tactics, and then maybe one day I can go to Manchester United.
“I don’t know if Mourinho will still be there, but it’s a team I’ve always liked.”
Fortunately for him maybe, Manchester United also had a scout at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia.
