Liverpool are reportedly interested in Porto youngster Éder Militão.
The 20-year-old right-back – who can also play as a centre-back or as a defensive midfielder – has been heavily linked with Manchester United but the latest reports claim that Reds’ boss Jürgen Klopp is considering making a formal enquiry regarding the Brazilian’s availability.
Despite only signing him on a 5-year contract last summer for a bargain £3.6million, Porto appear keen on negotiating new terms with Militão as a result of the attention he is receiving this season.
Initially used predominantly at right-back, Porto head coach Sergio Conceicao has switched Militão into the centre and he’s proved to be a bit of a revelation.
Liverpool’s scouting department are believed to have flagged up Militão to Klopp during a recent briefing. It is claimed that if the Liverpool manager wanted to step up with an offer that he would have to meet trigger a £42.5million release clause in his contract to make it happen.
Merseyside neighbours Everton are also believed to have an interest in Militão who received his first cap for Brazil in September last year.
