Liverpool are reportedly considering making a move for Eden Hazard’s brother Thorgan who plays for Borussia Monchengladbach.
The 25-year-old attacking midfielder has clocked up 9 goals so far this season and is attracting interest from a number of European sides including Roma and Atletico Madrid.
With his contract set to expire in 2020, Borussia Monchengladbach want to tie him down to a new deal but there are suggestions that he’s in no rush to do so. Subsequently, speculation is increasing that he could be looking to test himself elsewhere and Anfield has been mooted as a possible destination.
It is claimed that Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp is willing to pay €34million (£30.6m) for Hazard if a deal can be brokered.
Born in La Louvière, Belgium, Hazard has been capped 13 times by Belgium since 2013 after progressing through their various youth levels starting with the Under 15s.
He was signed by Chelsea from Lens in 2012 shortly after they signed his brother, Eden. However, he made only one appearance for their Under 21s and never made a first team appearance. He had a couple of loan moves before finally signing for Borussia Monchengladbach permanently in 2015.
KOPTALK sources have previously informed us that Liverpool scouts have been deployed to watch him in action but we can’t confirm whether or not the Reds will step up with an offer for him. It does sound, however, that we have an ongoing interest in him. It is highly likely that Klopp will monitor his contract situation and what other clubs may do with regards offers.
