Liverpool have been handed a possible transfer boost following suggestions that Barcelona are cooling their interest in Adrien Rabiot.
The 23-year-old PSG midfielder has been on Jürgen Klopp’s radar for some time but Barcelona emerged as favourites to land him once their interest was confirmed. While that may still be the case, there are suggestions in Spain that the Catalan giants are becoming tired at waiting for a response from the Rabiot camp and are now considering looking at other options.
During the January transfer it was claimed that Liverpool made a late move for Rabiot although KOPTALK denied the suggestions believing instead that we may make a move in the summer depending on what happened with Barca.
Rabiot has been linked on an ongoing basis with Liverpool for a couple of years now. Back in 2017, the player even seemed to suggest that Liverpool were a club that could interest him, should they go calling.
At the time, he said: “I think I would like to experience something else [outside Ligue 1].
“There are a lot of very good championships, it’s also very rewarding to go elsewhere.
“I would love to play in the Premier League, not necessarily one club in particular, even though I was very fond of Liverpool when I was young.”
Since then, Rabiot appears to have been up for a move to the Nou Camp but as he is yet to commit to the idea, other clubs are likely to step forward.
Arsenal have also been linked.
We bought Adrien Rabiot on the Football Index. Further speculation about his future between now and the summer will surely see his price rise. He’s definitely one to consider adding to your portfolio.
