Liverpool handed Alisson boost

Alisson Becker

Liverpool have apparently been handed a boost in their pursuit of goalkeeper Alisson following claims that Roma have identified a replacement in Genoa’s Mattia Perin.

Reports originating from Italy claim that Perin could be recruited by the Serie A outfit which would then pave the way for Liverpool to step up with a formal offer the 25-year-old.

It has been mooted that Roma are looking for a transfer fee in excess of £70million for Roma and KopTalk sources currently believe that the valuation is considered too high by the Reds.

We believe that Stoke City’s Jack Butland remains on the radar and with Stoke having been sent down to the Championship, signing him would be a lot easier and he would come at a fraction of the price. However, we’re not sure whether he’d be willing to be seen as a No.2, especially with his international inspirations.

Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp needs to find a replacement for Simon Mignolet who will leave in the summer providing he can find a new club.

Although a number of other goalkeepers continue to be linked we would advise you keep an eye on reports concerning Alisson but pay even more attention to what’s happening with Butland.

Interest in Real Madrid’s Keylor Navas appears to have ended.
