KOPTALK® sources are reporting that Fenway Sports Group (FSG) have recently held talks with up to 3 groups who are interested in buying into the club or buying it outright.

2 of the groups are China-based with 1 of them obviously the Everbright consortium. We can’t confirm who the 2nd Chinese group are at this time but that information may be shared in our Executive Lounge later this week.

An additional 3rd group have also made an approach but they have been deemed as “chancers” and don’t appear to have been taken seriously.

According to a number of sources who are not directly linked to each other, Liverpool FC principal owner John W Henry is unwilling to part with the club despite a number of his U.S.-based partners again expressing a desire to exit Anfield.

It is claimed that this same stance is what saw a Qatar investment group cool their interest in the club with sources now stating that those interested in a complete purchase of the club may now turn their attentions to other English clubs that look available for complete take-overs.

Everbright have remained in the mix despite being told that they can not buy the club outright but it sounds like potential investors/purchasers and existing FSG shareholders are becoming impatient.
