Liverpool are facing competition from a number of clubs for Bayer Leverkusen winger Julian Brandt.
Reds’ boss Jürgen Klopp is a fan of the 20-year-old and has been monitoring his performances all season.
The player’s club insist that Brandt is not for sale but this isn’t putting anyone off. Brandt is under contract until 2019 but it’s understood that in 2018 a €20million (approximately £17m) release clause would be activated.
Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voller recently commented: “It’s not an issue that we give him away. Anyway, he can’t get out of his contract.”
The player’s agent, however, says he’s planning summer talks with Voller to discuss his client’s position.
Arsenal, Everton, Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund have all had scouts tracking Brandt this season alongside representatives from Anfield.
KOPTALK sources report that there’s been no approach by Liverpool and that our interest, for now, is more observational in terms of seeing what happens with his contract situation.
