Liverpool Football Club are close to completing a deal for Monaco’s Fabinho.
The 24-year-old right-back/defensive midfielder will cost the Reds approximately £45million with a further £5million possible in add-ons.
A transfer fee has been agreed as too have personal terms. From what we’re hearing the deal could be rubber-stamped within the next 24 hours.
Liverpool appear to have turned to Fabinho after cooling their interest in Napoli ace Jorginho following strong interest from Manchester City and Chelsea.
Capped 4 times by Brazil, Fabinho has previously been linked with Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City and Manchester United.
Although he missed out on Brazil’s World Cup squad, Fabinho is a very highly-rated player and the signing will be seen as something of a coup.
Reds’ boss Jürgen Klopp has already secured the signing of Guinea midfielder Naby Keïta from RB Leipzig and even with the addition of Fabinho, he is expected to target another midfielder.
