RB Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff has denied claims that Naby Keïta has requested to be allowed to leave for Anfield during the current transfer window instead of waiting until the summer.
The suggestion continues to crop up but Mintzlaff insists that the 22-year-old midfielder will not become a Liverpool player until the current season is out of the way due to the existing agreements that are already in place.
Mintzlaff reiterated: “Neither Naby nor his agent have made the request to leave the club in the winter.
“There are contracts and they say that he will be a Liverpool employee from July 1st onwards.”
During the previous transfer window, Liverpool reached an agreement with Leipzig that would see them pay a premium on top of a £48m release clause, which comes into effect once this season is over, to secure a summer 2018 transfer.
