Genoa striker Krzysztof Piatek is said to be attracting interest from Liverpool. Reports today claim that the 23-year-old Poland international has come to Jürgen Klopp’s attention as a result of his impressive form so far this season.
Already labelled the ‘next Robert Lewandowski’, Piatek has scored 12 goals in 7 games for Genoa since his low-key summer move from Polish outfit Cracovia where he scored 32 goals in 63 league appearances.
Piatek is the first Serie A player since the 1949-50 season to score 8 goals in his debut 6 top-flight games and if you choose to believe the latest whispers, this has alerted Liverpool who have reportedly deployed scouts to monitor him.
Leicester City, Wolves, Manchester United, Tottenham and even minnows Everton are said to be showing an interest in him.
Although Daniel Sturridge is currently delivering for the Reds, he is out of contract in the summer and many will expect him to move on. Question remarks remain over Dominic Solanke and Divock Origi while Danny Ings obviously left the club recently. It goes without saying that the boss will be looking at strengthening his striker options ahead of the summer so we expect we’ll be linked with a number of players like Piatek over the coming months.
