Reports today claim that Liverpool have made an approach to Real Madrid regarding their ‘wonderkid’ Israel Salazar.
The 15-year-old striker has been linked with as many as 50 clubs and it is claimed that Liverpool have now joined the list of interested suitors by formally registering their interest.
Barcelona failed with an attempt to attract the Spain Under 17 international to the Nou Camp earlier this year, an approach which angered Real President Florentino Pérez.
Reds’ boss Jürgen Klopp is currently overseeing a policy of trying to snare some of the most promising youngsters across Europe which recently saw the acquisitions of Sepp van den Berg and Harvey Elliott.
Salazar is smashing records for the Real Madrid youth team so the Spanish giants will obviously do all they can to retain him but there have been suggestions that Barcelona or Liverpool could succeed in landing him.
While Liverpool supporters will welcome the Salazar link, we can’t help but feel that the majority of supporters would rather be reading about signings for the first team before the current transfer window closes.
