Hertha Berlin want to keep Allan Rodrigues de Souza

Hertha Berlin want to extend Allan Rodrigues de Souza’s loan for another season.

The 20-year-old Brazilian midfielder still won’t be able to secure a UK work permit in the summer so Liverpool are happy for him to remain in Germany providing Hertha qualify for the group stage of the Europa League.

Hertha sporting executive Michael Preetz has stated that Liverpool are willing to extend his deployment.

“We’ve lodged our wish to loan Allan for another year with Liverpool,” said Preetz.

“Principally, the English are up for it, but they would like us to be a guaranteed starter in the group stages of Europa League.”

Liverpool signed Allan in 2015 from Brazilian outfit Internacional for £500,000. He has since had loan spells with Finnish side SJK, Sint-Truiden of Belgium and Hertha.

Playing in the Europa League would help his chances of finally securing a work permit. Liverpool certainly don’t want to give up on the highly-rated youngster and are confident of finally being able to call upon his services.
