Former Manchester United ace Ryan Giggs believes Liverpool could struggle to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title because the pressure might get to Jürgen Klopp’s men.
The 45-year-old Welshman believes Liverpool are going to need plenty of luck and will have to hold their nerve if they are to be crowned champions at the end of the season.
Giggs said: “The only thing that may be a problem, I experienced it, is [Liverpool] haven’t won the league for 28 years.
“That pressure, when it comes to the run-in, when everyone’s talking about it.
“You have to have luck, you have to have things that go for you and you just have to keep your concentration.
“Keep remembering what got you there, what got you challenging for the Premier League, and the big players need to turn up.
“There’s a long way to go and the closer it gets to the end the further away it is, strangely.
“It won’t be easy, against a very good City team; but this Liverpool team, with Van Dijk, the front players they’ve got, the midfielders, they’ve got a way of playing.
“It doesn’t matter if they change a couple of players, they all know their jobs; they do look the real deal.”
