Valencia starlet Ferrán Torres has signed a new deal with Valencia following interest from Liverpool.
The 18-year-old winger has put pen to paper on a new deal that now runs until 2021 which includes a €100million release clause which works out at approximately £87.5million. His previous release clause was mooted to be £22million.
KOPTALK exclusively revealed a couple of weeks ago that Reds’ boss Jürgen Klopp was closely monitoring the youngster which was then picked up by the likes of MARCA (below) among others in Spain.
The local and national media closer to home reported our interest in him after Spanish football pundit Guillem Balagué apparently broke the news of our interest in him a few days ago.
But none of it matters anymore as the player has committed himself to Valencia for the foreseeable future. We’re not aware of any formal approach being made from Anfield and we can’t see Liverpool going back in for him now that his valuation has just rocketed.
Commenting on his new deal, Torres said: “I’m very happy. I’ve been with the club since I was 7.
“This is what I’ve been fighting for all my life and now I have to give back all the confidence in my club and coach.”
Real Madrid had also been linked with the player.
