There are fresh reports today linking Napoli midfielder Fabián Ruiz with Liverpool.
KOPTALK revealed last week that the 23-year-old Spain international was apparently attracting interest from Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp and that he could be under consideration for a possible recruitment attempt next year.
Following Liverpool’s 2-0 Champions League defeat to Napoli this week, speculation has increased with regards our rumoured interest in the player and if you choose to believe the claims, Klopp was impressed with his performance against us on Tuesday.
Truth be told, all of the reports we have seen recently are rather speculative but we can see why Klopp may be tracking him. Despite having plenty of options in midfield, we expect some changes in that area of the squad next year and Ruiz is a very good player. The likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Barcelona are also tracking him with Barca seemingly having tracked him for years.
Ruiz is a versatile player who can play anywhere across midfield. Although his preferred position is in the centre, he is also comfortable on the left side of midfield and he’s happy fitting into a number of different formations. His passing accuracy is exceptional and he has a fierce shot. His idol is former Barcelona ace Xavi, a player he admits to learning from and basing his own game on.
Klopp and the Liverpool faithful will get another chance to see Ruiz in action when Napoli visit Anfield on 27th November in the Champions League.
