Emre Can has handed Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp a boost after returning to full training at Melwood this morning.
The Liverpool midfielder missed games against Tottenham and Leicester City due to an ankle injury that he sustained at Burton Albion last month.
It’s too early to say whether or not the 22-year-old Germany international will be deployed at Stamford Bridge but he’s pushing for inclusion. He will be monitored at the various training sessions this week and if there is no adverse reaction in his ankle then we expect him to make the squad.
Defender Dejan Lovren is also being monitored by the club’s medical team after sustaining a black eye during a training session on Friday. He had to sit out the 4-1 stuffing of Leicester City on Saturday as he was unable to open his badly bruised right eye. Fortunately he didn’t sustain any concussion following the incident. His eye is already starting to look a bit better as you can see from the image above. He’s no wuss so we expect him to declare himself available for selection.
