Chelsea Football Club have announced the signing of Brazil striker Alexandre Pato on loan from Corinthians until the end of the season.
Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp wanted the 26-year-old but the Reds were unable to secure his signature.
Commenting on the move, Pato said: “I am so happy to sign for Chelsea. It is a dream for me.
“I’m looking forward to getting to know my new team-mates and cannot wait to play.
“I thank Chelsea for their support and hope I can repay this faith.”
Interim Stamford Bridge manager Guus Hiddink added: “It’s not a gamble. Coming on loan makes it possible to view if he can adapt to the league.”
It’s worth reminding you that Italian football journalist Alfredo Pedullà claimed on January 9th that Liverpool had secured Pato’s signature for £11m plus add-ons. Many ‘click baiting’ websites and self-appointed so called Twitter ITKs, deemed him ‘extremely trustworthy and credible’ to try and lure you in to their claims, whereas we dismissed them.
