Joël Matip has been ruled out of Saturday’s Premier League fixture away to Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Liverpool defender sustained a knock during the midweek win at Stoke City and will play no part in tomorrow’s game.
Midfielder Adam Lallana is continuing to work on his fitness while a decision will be made on the availability of defender Ragnar Klavan following a minor illness.

Speaking at this afternoon’s pre-match press conference, Klopp said: “It looks like Joel Matip is out. After the game he had a problem, he felt something muscle-wise.
“We have to make the final assessment but it doesn’t look like he is available for tomorrow. That’s pretty much all.
“Adam Lallana is still building up his fitness.
“Ragnar Klavan was ill but hopefully he is not anymore, especially when you think about Joel Matip’s situation. It’s not that we have a big choice to make in defence, so that is the situation.
“Final decisions will be made after the session at three o’clock [this afternoon].”
Brighton left-back Gaetan Bong should return after recovering from a minor knee injury that saw him miss their draw with Crystal Palace on Tuesday evening but midfielder Steve Sidwell is still out with a back surgery.
