Bobby Duncan is expected to complete his proposed transfer to Fiorentina later today.
Liverpool have accepted an improved offer of £1.8million for the 18-year-old in a deal which includes a 20% sell-on clause.
Sporting director Michael Edwards calmy continued to negotiate with the Italian outfit despite the very public attack by the player’s agent Saif Rubie who accused the Reds of bullying his client. We have been informed that Rubie was ‘cut out’ of this latest round of negotiations and that Duncan’s former agent Rob Segal, head of YMU Group, has instead been handling.
The youngster broke into Liverpool’s Under-23 side towards the end of last season and featured for the Reds first-team during pre-season before returning to the Academy.
Fiorentina have until until 7pm today to complete the transfer.
Meanwhile, Juventus appear keen to offload former Liverpool midfielder Emre Can. The 25-year-old has been linked with a possible late move to either Barcelona or Bayern Munich.
Dejan Lovren has been linked with a number of Italian clubs and Juventus were tipped to make a move for him today but as yet there’s been nothing.
