Former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso is preparing to become a football manager.
The 35-year-old who recently hung up his boots has confirmed that he is about to make the transition following a successful playing career.
“After 17 years in the game, I have considered the next step in my career. I have decided to go into management. Find out [where] soon,” said Alonso in a brief video posted to his Instagram account.
Alonso signed for Liverpool in 2004 from Real Sociedad for a fee believed to be around £10.5million and made more than 200 appearances for us.
