Adam Lallana will not be handed first-team ban after being sent off for the Liverpool Under-23s last night.
The Liverpool midfielder was shown a red card for violent conduct after clashing with Tottenham’s George Marsh (19). Lallana appeared to grab the Spurs man around the throat and the back of the head after he climbed over him to win the ball.
Lallana is now expected to be handed a 3-match ban but this would only apply to Under-23 fixtures.

Speaking after the game, Liverpool Under-23 boss Neil Critchley said: “I have never seen Adam react like that. I’d like to see the incident again.”
Liverpool finished the match with just 9 players after rookie George Johnston was also sent off for two bookable offences.
