So after Adrian's 2 week debacle do we need to look for another new number 2 GoalKeeper?
His high profile errors for Chelsea's first goal in the 2 nil FA Cup defeat and then getting beat twice in the same spot from the same player in our exit from the CL by Atl. Madrid underlines we cannot rely on him anymore in such vital games.
Thoughts?

Thoughts? He did well at the beginning of the season but always looked like lacking confidence. Because of that I think he will end up making stupid mistakes every now and then despite being quite a good stopper. There must be a reason why he didnt have a club before we signed him for free. If Alisson was not getting injured that much then we could have taken a chance, but I dont think we can

It's pretty much what West Ham fans said when we signed him, he can be good, but makes too many stupid mistakes, Whatever happens, he helped us create a great run at the start of the season which helped us with the PL, so we should all be grateful for that.
We need to improve on him, we need a stronger number 2, like Man Utd & City have, problem is bringing one in when you have Alisson at Number 1, as they will only get domestic cup games & cover injuries/suspensions, which worryingly there have been a few this season.
It's also hard to bring someone in to suit our style of play, as we play it out from the back allot, which most keepers are not comfortable with and make errors, like the Adrian CL one.
Aren't some of the young keepers highly rated? and Karius will be back at the end of this season lol

Number 2 GK is a specialist role, as you cannot easily rotate GK in and out like you can with other positions like CB & CM, so you need someone happy to sit on the bench but good enough to play when needed, if GK are out, they are generally out for a few games at least. I thought maybe an experienced GK would be good, approaching retirement, like Pepe Reina, but he has struggled at Villa.

No, he had one bad game. Taken me a few days t get over it - the coronavirus would be easier to get over !
Keep him, I wouldn't want Karius anywhere near the postcode to be honest. Plus we've all seen the howlers Reina's been making at Villa too.

Damn FSG. FSG OUT!

You're never going to get a No2 who's as good as you No1 so what kind of keeper are we looking for. I'm thinking someone like Jo Heart. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't want him anywhere near the No1 slot but I think he'd of been better than Adrian against Athletico.
