I think the biggest thing about the summer is that we did not have to sell a player, either to balance the books or because a player wanted out because we could not match their ambition, instead we invested in the current squad, given them new long term contracts to deter buyers, but if there are buyers in the future, we can name our price as they are on huge long term deals.
As for Leeds, as someone said earlier, it was similar rumours for Newcastle a few months ago. In the Championship it would be a long term project that needs sensible management, as you would have to attract players to get them promoted, the big names would not want to drop down a division/no European football.
City were already in the PL, so boosting them was allot easier as you could attract top players with ££££, but even then, City first buys were players like Adebayor, Touré & Roque Santa Cruz who they had to pay massively over the odds for when already in the PL, even Robinho had lost his way at RM and the City owners just wanted a name, they may as well have bought Pele!
