Yep, at least one to rotate/provide cover for Mane and Firmino. But he said we had bills to pay, I wonder how big the bills were after our record revenues, do you have any idea?

Well we needed a couple or more really to have anything close to like for like rotation/substitutions. Left full back, forward and a creative goal threat from midfield at a minimum. The truth is there's still considerable squad building to be done, despite our current beautiful, lofty perch. Even if it's great to be back on our "F*****g Perch"....up yours Fergie!!

Problem is are like for like backups gonna happily join and sit on the bench, look at Robertson, we could buy Chilwell at say £70 million, but he won't want to join to play in the Carabao cup games and FSG won't pay the wages of first teamers to play 10 games a season in the cups, you end up with players who are unhappy, which is what Klopp wants to avoid. Look at Sane at City, he has won lots with City but was unhappy he wasn't playing the amount of game he thought he should, there have been similar rumblings from other City players, we have similar from Shaq.

You can spend fortunes on players and who knows how they will turn out, look at Pepe at Arsenal, he was linked with us allot, £70+ million and he hasn't done much so far, Origi has looked more impressive when he came on for us, so who knows, I am happy to follow Klopp and his teams judgement, as they got us to where we are today.

I think the trick is to buy versatile players to cover several positions, like Fab, he can play first choice CM, with CB & RB as cover, so we know he can cover them positions with a player who is maybe not quite as good at that as CM, but he's good enough, similar with Milner at LB and all over MF, the front 3 are similar, as they can play across the line, so we do not need 11 like for like replacements.

Exactly, Prince!

For example: To cover our fullback positions we should aim for a player who can cover them both and rotate a lot in PL and CL. Then give him the League Cup and FA Cup games and he should be fine playing 25-35 games a season. Same amount of games (or a bit more) for Trent and Robbo.

We will have a problem if we lost one or more of our 3 forwards. Let's say Shaq can chip in for Salah, but we don't really have anybody for Mane and both Origi and Brewster cannot offer what Firmino offers. VVD is another one but centre backs are usually less exposed to injury and we do have some cover including Fabinho. At left back we might have an issue but the young lad who played pre season could do a job or eventually Milner. Yes, buying 4 players would be a great luxury but not realistic and potentially create more problems, however, if we could get a versatile right footed forward, we would be in a much better place.
