The German league is quite competitive with Munich, Dortmund, Bayer etc. Are Leipzig just another Leicester? Maybe they will be midtable this year, who knows.

Manchester City v Liverpool - Premier League
The signing of the season?
What’s the story?Liverpool lacked a solid defender at the back during their 5-0 loss to Manchester City. The main reason was that Liverpool failed to sign a defender in the summer and that is one thing that bothers Jurgen Klopp a lot.

However, Ian McGarry of the Transfer Window Podcast has claimed that they will be signing Virgil van Dijk in January. The club didn't need funds from his sale to bring in new players and that blocked his move.In case you didn’t know...Liverpool were keen on signing Van Dijk in the summer but spoke to him before agreeing a deal with Southampton. The Saints threatened to take action against the reds and that forced them to issue a public apology.

They were forced to withdraw their bid for the player but they did not end their interest in him. What’s next?Liverpool and Southampton are very close to agreeing a deal for Van Dijk. the only reason they did not sell him in the summer was that they wanted to stand by what they said. Despite being the club captain, Van Dijk had handed in a transfer request to force the move. He's now set to feature for them in the coming months before heading for his dream move to Anfield. Also read: Leo Messi reportedly makes final decision on Barcelona's new contract offerAuthor’s TakeVan Dijk would be a brilliant signing for Liverpool but will it solve their defensive issues? Nope. They need to sign one more centre-back as Lovren and Matip are lacking competition.

So he called a friend, next step now is to ask the audience, and if that doesn't work he should do a 50/50.

If we like him enough to get him on a free, Couldn't we have just signed him in the summer at a reduced fee going into his last year???? we might save a couple of £million but it could cost us the season not having a decent CB.

Liverpool open to letting Philippe Coutinho join Barcelona in January transfer

Liverpool have reportedly told Philippe Coutinho they will listen to offers in January from Barcelona.

The Reds infuriated Barcelona and frustrated Coutinho when they refused to do business in the summer and repeatedly turned down bids.
Barcelona made three bids with Coutinho handing in a transfer request on the eve of Liverpool’s opening Premier League game in August.
Liverpool never wavered from their position and never even sat down with Barcelona officials to discuss a possible deal.

Coutinho has now been reintegrated into the Liverpool first-team and scored a goal and set up another in the 3-2 win over Leicester City on Saturday.
However, Spanish outlet Sport claim the midfielder has not given up on a move to Barcelona and is now targeting a January switch.
Coutinho’s representatives sat down with club officials in Boston, the base of owners FSG, and have reiterated their desire to join Barcelona.

Did anybody notice the utter indifference displayed by Klopp when Coutinho scored last night? Usually he's leaping and jumping all over the place, I'd say his face screamed: 'oh no not that little Barca bound basturd again'!

Maybe he was thinking "just another three and we should be safe"?

I doubt we'll get him in January and if we do, like you say, it's much to late by then. The damage of not buying a CB is already done. Thank you Kloppy!
