Are we talking Nominative determinism Herc like good old Dr Richard Chopp the vasectomy doc?

I think it works the other way round lumb's, I'd say people got their names from their work/occupation, as in Smith, goldsmith, cooper, etc. rather than folk following a line of work indicated by their name. As in the Nominative determinism theory. But I'm no expert so could well be wrong.
