We should sue FIFa

That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

Cameroon does not pay his wages we do. Why do FIFA insist on having these pointless regulations?

So that clubs do not force players to prevent them playing for their countries, which club would have allowed their players to go and play with the risk of getting injured even if there was no league games. That said we have to hope for a miracle I think, far from our best team on the pitch

The thing is, Matip hasn't played since 2015 and said he didn't want to play so it's nothing to do with LFC. He wasn't even picked so I'm failing to see why there would be a problem with him playing now?

Yep, wouldn't he had to be named in the squad pre-tournament? as he's been out injured for 6 weeks, he was not named in the squad, so Liverpool should be ok to play him as he came back after that? I can see why Liverpool asked for Fifa to ok this, but really I can't see how Fifa could penalise Liverpool.

It is ludicrous that FIFA can prove time and again to be incapable of acting with integrity and clarity.

When the home nations want to honour the war, and they get fined and disciplined after the event having sought clarification from FIFA before the event, only to be quoted a rule that they actually didn't fall foul of.

Again, Liverpool seek clarification on the clubs position on a player, and FIFA refuse to offer clarity. If he had played, expect the club to have had the points revoked and a fine.

Until football has another governing body, don't expect any of these kinds of situations to be resolved or changed.

The club should ask FIFA to pay Matips wages for the period of time he is unable to play.

You'd hope with SKY broadcasting that Matip cannot play as Fifa have not responded to Liverpool, Fifa will now respond at least and let Liverpool know it's ok, puts the pressure on Fifa, maybe they are waiting for the brown paper bag to be delivered before they make a decision?

Any why can't our FA answer Liverpool as per the rules? they are members of Fifa so should be able to answer????

Hopefully he will be back for Plymouth, would be a good run out for him.

Probably, but someone would have to challenge it legally, I can't see any clubs/FA's wanting to risk p*ssing off Fifa by challenging it. Look at us with Sakho, we missed Sakho for the last 10 games or so of last season after the Fifa drugs test, then Fifa say no rule was broken, sorry.......

The FA should challenge it. As far as I'm aware players don't sign a contract with their national side. He has a contract with lfc though. If there's no contract then they have no grounds to ban him when he chooses not to play. They are actually interfering with a lawful contract
